HUAWEI Mate 40E 4G version (OCE-AL50) is a 6.5-inch FHD + (2376 x 1080) display smartphone that is powered by HUAWEI Kirin 990E 2.86GHz octacore CPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB / 256GB storage capacity. It is a high-end smartphone with a triple camera comprising 50 megapixels + 16 megapixels + 8 megapixels.
Huawei’s original “Harmony OS 2” is adopted as the OS, 5G communication is not supported, and other specifications are the same as the 5G version. Google related apps and Play Store are not available. It features a 64MP triple camera and an OLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. This device is supported by a 4200mAh battery and supports 40W quick charge, biometric authentication is fingerprint authentication sensor (inside the screen) and face authentication, waterproof and dustproof (IP53), USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack is available.

Available in three colours: silver, white, and black. Launched in China in June 2021, the price is 4199 yuan (about ₦271,000 in Nigeria) for the RAM 8GB / 128GB model and 4699 yuan (about ₦303,000 in Nigeria) for the RAM 8GB / 256GB model. In addition, the 4G model HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro 4G version, HUAWEI Mate X2 4G version, and HUAWEI nova 8 Pro 4G version of “Harmony OS” were also announced at the same time.
